Former Secret Service agent destroys CNN charade that Trump threatened violence against Hillary

I can't emphasize this enough, so I'm going to start with it. The entire media/political complex has been knowingly lying to you for the past several days. It's a game they all play, and they all know they're playing it. A Republican candidate says something that can be portrayed as horrific. It's not, and they know it's not, but that's completely irrelevant. The only thing that matters is that they can sell it that way, and any protest by the candidate is brushed off as an obvious self-serving lie. But what happens when someone comes along who is not the candidate and not connected to him, but has the background to know about this stuff and isn't afraid to lay the smack to the people taking part in the game? Well, the game players are not fans of such people, as we see from this CNN segment yesterday. Former Secret Service agent Daniel Bongino says what any critical thinker in the country must easily recognize: Calling Trump's comment about "Second Amendment people" some sort of violence threat is completely absurd. And he explains why.
And host Don Lemon, along with political class members-in-good-standing David Gergen and Jeffrey Toobin, don't react too well to the thrashing Bongino is giving them. Lemon's angry appeal to authority is especially hilarious. Why, "many respected people" are jumping on the Trump-threatened-violence narrative. Sure. Because they all play the game too. Gergen cites a story in Time Magazine. Time Magazine! If that doesn't settle it . . . But what about the report that the Secret Service "took it very seriously", which butts up very clearly against Bongino's insistence that the Secret Service considers the whole thing a joke? Is there any way to square the two? Sure. The Secret Service are not going to laugh in the faces of Hillary's campaign staff when they complain about "incendiary rhetoric" or whatever. They're going to go to the Trump campaign and say, look, would you please tell him to watch what he says so we don't have to deal with this all the time?

Only a dishonest hack like Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, David Gergen or Jeffrey Toobin would conflate "Second Amendment people" with "presidential assassin".

They have to do that. But what do the agents, understanding what real threats look and sound like, think in their own minds? Exactly what Bongino says. That this whole thing is an idiotic joke. I had the misfortune of catching a little of CNN in a hotel lobby this morning (I'm in Atlanta so I guess they figure they have to show it here), and I saw Chris Cuomo say the following about it: "Donald Trump is blaming the media for the words that came out of his mouth." Uh. No. Donald Trump is blaming the media, correctly, for telling you the words that came out of Donald Trump's mouth mean what they clearly don't mean. And think of the utter illogic it would take to actually believe (which in truth they do not) what the media claim Trump said. Unlike what the left wants you to think, "Second Amendment people" are not murderers and assassins. They're people who believe in the right to keep and bear arms. When Trump referenced Second Amendment people, he was talking about people who would work through the legitimate political process of this nation to protect that right. Only a dishonest hack like Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, David Gergen or Jeffrey Toobin would conflate "Second Amendment people" with "presidential assassin". And yet the media is totally controlled by dishonest hacks who do this very thing. And when they make the mistake of letting a non-hack like Daniel Bongino into their midst, it doesn't go so well for them.
