Why the Trudeau government ignored 2nd anniversary of soldiers killed in terrorist attacks

The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau had no intention of marking the anniversaries of the deaths of two Canadian soldiers who were killed by Islamic terrorists within two days of each other in October 2014. Much like a new WikiLeaks dump about Hillary and the DNC, it may seem shocking at first but it really isn’t. While the rest of the mainstream media appeared to ignore whether or not the anniversaries of the soldiers’ deaths would be marked, Kris Sims of CFRA radio in Ottawa did not. Sims, a former staff member for Erin O’Toole, Veteran Affairs Minister in the previous Conservative government, wrote to Veterans Affairs to ask when this year’s ceremony would start. A spokesman for Veterans Affairs told her he had checked with the DND and there were no plans to hold a commemoration this year.
Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, 53, died after being deliberately struck down by a car driven by Martin Rouleau on Oct. 20, 2014. Rouleau had been waiting in the parking lot of a Quebec strip mall that contained an office run by Veterans Affairs and the Department of National Defence. After intentionally aiming his car at three uniformed soldiers, the convert to Islam then fled the scene. But during his flight he called 911 saying he did what he did for Allah. Rouleau’s car eventually overturned during a police chase and he emerged brandishing a knife at police. The cops shot him to death. Two days later, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, 24, was shot to death while standing guard at the National War Memorial on Parliament Hill. Again, the shooter was a convert to the religion of peace. Martin Zehaf-Bibeau then ran into the Parliament Buildings, going right past the room where the Conservatives were holding a caucus meeting. Zehaf-Bibeau was shot to death by Sergeant-at-Arms Ken Vickers and an RCMP officer before he could inflict more serious damage. The day after Sims’ article appeared, the matter was raised in Question Period by two CPC members, Peter Van Loan and Jacques Gourde. Both members received the same answer from the Minister of Veterans Affairs Kent Hehr. After saying all Canadians remember the tragic events on Oct. 20 and Oct 22, and how they, presumably the Liberals, mourn their deaths and extend their sympathies to the soldiers’ families, the two will be remembered on November 11, Remembrance Day. Of course those on the left accused the CPC of playing politics with the deaths of Vincent and Cirillo.

In other words, the deaths of Vincent and Cirillo were no different than the deaths of any other soldiers whose lives were sacrificed while wearing the uniform of the Canadian military. The Conservative government of Stephen Harper recognized these brutal acts for what they were—terrorist acts committed by radical Islamic jihadists on Canadian soil against members of Canada’s military. Those on the left of course insisted they were just mentally disturbed individuals. Sad, but no biggie. On the first anniversaries of the deaths of Vincent and Cirillo, Trudeau had won the election but his government had not yet been sworn in. The Harper government held a large commemorative ceremony to honour these two brave men who lost their lives to Islamic terrorism. Speeches were made by the Governor General and others. Trudeau, forever the hypocrite, even laid a wreath in memory of the two victims of radical Islam. But this year, there is no special ceremony to remember these two soldiers. They did not die in battle in some faraway place. They did not die due to enemy fire. Vincent was killed for just walking in a Quebec parking lot while Cirillo was shot to death while standing guard at the National War Memorial. Both men were killed because they were wearing the uniform of the Canadian military by adherents to Islamic ideology that not only hate our way of life but hate the military in particular.

Canada's diversity includes radical Islamic jihadists whose final actions consisted of killing members of Canada’s military.

Trudeau did however issue a statement on the second anniversary of Cirillo’s death. The statement, read in part, “This vicious attack, at the very heart of our democracy, sought to frighten and divide Canadians. It had the exact opposite effect, drawing us closer together and making us stronger. In the wake of this deadly assault, parliamentarians and Canadians united in condemning terrorism and embracing our diversity.” [Emphasis added] Further down, a portion of the statement read, “This also showed me yet again that our diversity and collective love for democracy are what make our country strong and our nation great.” [Emphasis added] On the plus side, at least he issued a statement. Usually the self-obsessed PM simply tweets. No one can be blamed for not understanding what the mental midget meant with all his references to diversity. He has a fetish for diversity. It is almost as if he is glad the killings happened because it illustrated how great Canada is because our diversity includes radical Islamic jihadists whose final actions consisted of killing members of Canada’s military. There was no ceremony to honour Vincent and Cirillo because Trudeau, like Papa Pierre before him, hates the military. The only good they are for this PM is to deploy them in order to try and impress the United Nations so Canada can obtain a seat on the Security Council. The ceremonies held on November 11 are not what they used to be. Trudeau and people like him who cannot stand the military, wear poppies and talk about the sacrifices generations of Canadians made for freedom. Not only do they hate the military but they could not care less about freedom and individual liberty. Canadians throughout the country took time this weekend to remember Patrice Vincent and Nathan Cirillo even if Trudeau and his mouthpieces like Hehr did not.
