White House or Waffle House, who cares?

Schumer demands Nunes step down. Trey Gowdy rips him a new one...

They like to tell the GOP which presidential candidates they "fear the most." This usually ends up with Republicans running someone like John McCain or Jeb Bush. They like to offer "helpful" strategy suggestions which, for the last ten years, have been nothing but pathways to conservative failure. They enjoy telling the RNC what it should do "for the good of the two-party system," and that advice always boils down to "don't fight, roll over, and give us what we want." They're Democrats in office and in the media - and we're all more than a little fed up with their advice.
Maybe that's why we love Trey Gowdy's response to Chuck Schumer's demand that Chairman Intel Committee Chairman Devin Nunes either resign or recuse himself. It's just the kind of blunt rejection that we've wanted to hear for a decade.
"I just love it when Senator Schumer gives Republicans advice on what we ought to do. Devin is doing exactly what the chairman ought to do. When you have a source that has information, you handle that information safely, securely. Which is exactly what he did. I wish Senator Schumer and some of the other Democrats would be more interested in the authenticity and the reliability of the underlying data and not the means by which it was acquired. Whether it's the White House or the Waffle House, what difference does it make if the information is reliable and authentic? It just so happens Devin had to do it this way. So, We're not going to take advice from Senator Schumer on who are chairpeople ought to be."

Boom. That's the answer that should be given every time a Democrat demands a resignation. "No." Full stop. Every. Single. Time. Learn to play the sort of hardball Democrats have perfected. If Dems can prove that the person in question did something wrong, they're welcome to proceed with impeachment, recalls, censure, whatever. If they're demanding that Republicans self-immolate, it means they've got nothing. Reject and ignore their worthless ultimatums. You can watch Gowdy's comments below.
