Mika Brzezinski working overtime to give Mark Halperin the benefit of the doubt her network extends to ...no one else
We all know what MSNBC is. It's a left-wing propaganda machine whose hosts work tirelessly to attack everyone who would dare disagree with their oh-so-obvious moral superiority. When discussing Republicans, MSNBC has always been eager to pounce. In particular, when it comes to Donald Trump, there's no unsubstantiated rumor the network isn't prepared to run - regardless of whether or not it stems from "anonymous sources." They lick their chops and dig in, even if they end up embrarrssing themselves.
Remember that time that Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski ran with a completely unprovable account of how Kellyanne Conway "secretly hates" Donald Trump? Remember how Mika claimed Conway told the co-hosts that she was just "doing this for the money" - a charge even Joe Scarborough said wasn't true? How 'bout all those times the network insinuated that Trump had been committing tax fraud? Trump "didn't pay taxes" for a decade, remember? That eventually blew up in their faces with the whole "Rachel Maddow tax return fiasco." ...And let's not forget the palpable glee with which they reported sexual harrassment allegations at Fox News. There was no tempered, measured, response offered to people like Eric Bolling or Bill O'Reilly. They're the opposition, both in terms of ratings and ideology, so MSNBC immediately went for the jugular. There's no "innocent until proven guilty." There's no, "wait for the facts." There's just a jokey, condescending, pile-on. They accuse everyone of lying, they shift from target to target on a whim, and they never miss an opportunity to take a cheap jab. Like I said, that's IF you're not "part of the family."

If you ARE "part of the family," their hearts break for you and you get weepy, emotional, screeds like the one below. Viewers are reminded time and time again, to wait for context. Victims and perpetraters alike are assured that the network is "praying for everybody involved." It's stomach-turning... If Halperin had been a Fox News host, or a GOP politician, Mika would have spent the entirety of that segment tearing him to shreds. The Morning Joe panel would have giggled its way through an "analysis" of the story, and an array of MSNBC hosts would have brought the matter up at every opportunity. No one would have prayed, no one would have reminded you that the accused deserves their "day in court." They simply would have torn into the red meat like a pack of wolves. The below treatment is, apparently, reserved for their friends.

Brzezinski on Halperin: ‘Nothing Has Been Proven’ But We’ll ‘Demand the Truth’
