And now, some Twitter wisdom on sexual harassment from . . . Jose Canseco

And now, some Twitter wisdom on sexual harassment from . . . Jose Canseco, Why the heck not? I share this mainly because I love entertaining you, and Jose is always entertaining. It's hard to tell here if he's trying to be serious or if he's lampooning the whole thing, but that's part of what makes it funny. You're never really sure what Jose thinks he's doing, and in all likelihood, neither is he. I also share it to raise a point of comparison: When you see the public statements on sexual harassment being offered by the polished and practiced public figures, they souund carefully rehearsed and designed to produce no criticism or blowback whatsoever. Then you see a dumpster fire like this. Which do you think is closer to how most men really feel about the issue?

What is going on with all these politicians molesting women I've been molested by several women and never complained

Why do we still pay attention to anything Jose Canseco says? He's a complete knucklehead, and in fact the most famous use of his head to date was a ricochet for a home run. Doctors examined Jose's head and found nothing. Having said that, why did we ever listen to the likes of Al Franken? Or Matt Lauer? Or Mark Halperin? Or Bill Clinton? Jose sounds like he's been a bit of a cad in his dealings with women. Shame on him. At least he doesn't pretend to be anything other than what he is. And I for one don't think it's such a bad thing that tweets like this from a guy like this are in the public eye. We should deal with this kind of thinking as it really is. I do think it's a bad thing when America assigns wisdom and authority to people they don't really know, but that they figure must be credible because they see them on TV a lot and they're good at reading from teleprompters. The next time some politician or media lunkhead waxes high and mighty about this or some other topic, maybe it's worth wondering how he behaves in his real life. At least with Jose we know. When he claims to be a womanizing slob, he deserves to be taken seriously. BONUS TRIVIA: Who hit the home run that bounced over the fence off Jose's head? ANSWER: The late Carlos Martinez of the Indians, one of only 25 home runs he hit in a seven-year career. May God rest his soul.
