If you know the name David Boies, it's probably because you were paying attention during the aftermath of Al Gore's 2000 election loss. Boies was Gore's legal point-man, and became a staple of talking-head news shows during the campaign's doomed attempt to navigate the hanging-chad / legal challenge fiasco following the narrow results in Florida. Gore's effort to overturn the now-undisputed outcome made Boies a household name - one that dragged the country through months of ill-conceived legal gymnastics.
Until yesterday, Boies was still a highly-regarded attorney. Now, Boies's prominence may finally have come to an end.The Comment section of online publications is the new front in the ongoing Cancel Culture Battle.
