It's true if you look at it in a vacuum. Almost no one actually serves close to a decade on a robbery conviction. Assuming good behavior in prison and whatever else, the robber is almost certainly paroled inside of five years. That would suggest that a certain Nevada inmate should have been out around 2012 or 2013.
But does anyone not understand why he's still locked up? Hint: It's for a reason the law says you're not even supposed to consider, but that you know darn well is front and center in the minds of every parole board member:
