It’s been two months since the B.C. government cancelled a 15 per cent personal tax cut that was due to go into effect on January 1st. It was a move justified by B.C.’s finance minister, Colin Hansen, as ensuring “ flexibility” for the next premier, who will take office after the February 26th B.C. Liberal leadership contest (where 97 per cent of B.C. residents will not get a vote). This decision was the first one that clearly showed that until March, despite everyone getting paid, the BC government was going to be on autopilot.
