Toronto, ON -- Canadians have many more reasons to visit the island of Ireland this year other than a strong Canadian dollar thanks to the Irish government’s new tourism initiative.
The tax (VAT) charged on tourism-related goods and services has now been reduced from 13.5 percent to 9 per cent, which will lead to cheaper prices for travellers on restaurant and catering services, hotel and vacation accommodation, and various entertainment services such as admissions to cinemas, theatres, museums, fairgrounds, amusement parks and sporting facilities.
