Atlanta has some of the most affordable housing of any metropolitan area in the U.S. If left to the Atlanta Regional Council (ARC), that could soon change. Instead of allowing Atlanta's people and lifestyles to expand organically in reponse to market needs and community wishes, ARC plans to use public policy to force transit oriented, "WalkUP" communities in areas that currently display an inclination toward walkability.
