Oops: U.S. accidentally strikes Syrian positions


The Syrian civil war is a bizarre situation - one I don't claim to entirely understand - but am I the only one who thinks it's awfully strange that we're letting the Russians know ahead of time when we're going to launch a strike? And apparently our guys are having a hard time distinguishing Syrian forces from ISIS forces, which apparently created a very weird situation in which we were accidentally bombing the bejeezus out of the Syrians and our good friends the Russkies were kind enough to tell us we should stop:
The official said that before the strike was called off, U.S. forces had destroyed roughly six vehicles and the “personnel associated with them.” The official would not expound on the casualty numbers. The U.S. aircraft only used guided bombs, the official said. The official also denied some Syrian news reports that the U.S. aircraft dropped incendiary bombs on the Syrian forces. Interfax news agency in Russia reported that more than 60 Syrian troops were killed.
