As we told you before, the left was salivating over the prospect of a Jason Chaffetz scandal. When he announced he would be walking away from Congress, Dems went into conspiracy theory overdrive. After all, government is the only thing on Earth that matters. There could be no logical reason for Chaffetz's resignation - unless he was tied to those pesky Russian hackers. Chaffetz, they argued, wanted to get out before he landed in prison.
There was, of course, nothing to it. It was more left-wing fan-fiction designed to make themselves feel better about the sorry state of their party.
