Detroit will, unarguably, be better off once the name "John Conyers" has faded into history. Nancy Pelosi's congressional "icon" has been a millstone dragging the city down for decades, so the faster he's gone, the faster the Motor City's recovery will go. That means his departure is a bit of bad news and a lot of good news for those hoping to see Detroit's resurrection continue.
The bad news is that he's not leaving immediately. Also, when he does eventually walk away, he'll get to do so with the same pomp, circumstance, and retirement benefits offered to disgusting progressive "icons" like Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, and Bill Clinton.
