There was a time in this country when, if a prominent member of an administration had done what you're about to see, people would have been angry. A supposed truth-teller laughing at the concept of transparency from his position behind the State Department podium would have sparked outrage. Sadly, those days are long gone.
We've been lied to so many times, about so many things and with such spectacular hubris, that no one bats an eye when the mask slips.
“Welcome to the State Department,” says Deputy State Department spokesman Mark Toner. “I think we have some interns in the back. Welcome. Good to see you in this exercise in transparency and democracy.”The Comment section of online publications is the new front in the ongoing Cancel Culture Battle.
