Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired the hearts and minds of an entire nation with love, non-violence and unity. He did not preach hate, violence or division. That's why he would be stunned by the actions and rhetoric of some people, groups and organizations today.
Dr King's inspirational philosophy and leadership resulted in landmark legislative actions, namely the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. That's 188 years after our Declaration of Independence was signed. That's a significant part of our history. Period!
