Poll: Only 28% of Americans agree with Obama on Syrian refugees

If you're among those who think that the blanket acceptance of Syrian refugees might not be the brightest idea, congratulations, you've managed to "pop off" in such a way that you've upset President Obama. He doesn't like you, and he takes every opportunity to portray you as a tiny, statistically unimportant, percentage of the population. As usual, you should feel free to ignore him. You're in the overwhelming majority.
From Bloomberg:
Most Americans want the U.S. to stop letting in Syrian refugees amid fears of terrorist infiltrations after the Paris attacks, siding with Republican presidential candidates, governors, and lawmakers who want to freeze the Obama administration’s resettlement program.
Despite that, Obama remains steadfastly dedicated to continuing the refugee program as it currently stands. "Security" be damned. He's promised to veto any bill that would slow the rate, or limit the number, of Syrian refugees entering the United States. He's even gone so far as to accuse Republicans of aiding "ISIL," a mysterious organization that the rest of the world refers to as "ISIS."
"I cannot think of a more potent recruitment tool for ISIL than some of the rhetoric that’s coming out of here during the course of this debate.”
According to the President, any attempt to deviate from his demands would be an "un-American" move designed to cater to people who fear "orphans and women." Apparently, he thinks 72% of the American people are cowards, because only 28% of them agree with continuing his pedal-to-the-metal approach.

Fifty-three percent of U.S. adults in the survey, conducted in the days immediately following the attacks, say the nation should not continue a program to resettle up to 10,000 Syrian refugees. Just 28 percent would keep the program with the screening process as it now exists, while 11 percent said they would favor a limited program to accept only Syrian Christians while excluding Muslims, a proposal Obama has dismissed as “shameful” and un-American.
Yes, Bloomberg is trying to pretend it's only about 10,000 refugees. That's laughable, but it's not the point. The vast majority want the system altered to provide more security and a substantial majority want it ended altogether. In reality, the numbers are probably a bit worse for Obama. As mentioned above, that 10,000 figure is ridiculous. We all know that's just the beginning. Refugee organizations are demanding far higher totals, and Obama will likely acquiesce. Ask the question with that in mind, and watch the opposition skyrocket. You can also bet that members of his own party are reluctant to respond in a way that makes their President look bad, and there are probably others who will mutter to themselves while outwardly toeing the PC line. No, Obama doesn't care about any of it. You can rest assured that he'll do whatever he wants, while pretending he lives in a world where his every utterance is met with thunderous applause. The reality, however, is quite different. He's in the minority, not those who reject his edicts.
