One nation under . . . who?

A tale of two opening prayers: RNC and DNC side by side

I don't think I need to say too much here. They videos speak for themselves pretty nicely. But I'll make these two observations:
  1. The RNC prayer makes multiple mentions of Jesus and acknowledges His lordship, while not mentioning any political candidate a single time. DNC mentions: Hillary 1, Jesus 0.
  2. I am quite aware that different churches have different styles of worship, but even urban Pentecostal churches don't whoop and holler during prayer. Every other time, you bet, but not during prayer.
See for yourself: The bottom line is that the opening prayer at the RNC was a sincere and humble appeal to God for His blessings and guidance, and those in attendance treated it as such. The opening prayer at the DNC was a political speech that used God as a prop. Some people worship the true God. Some people's god is government. It's not hard to tell the difference between the two.
