Meet Randy Bryce. He's a Wisconsin iron worker, a union organizer, a Democrat, and a newly announced candidate seeking to de-throne Paul Ryan in 2018.
He's also a big proponent of single-payer healthcare - a socialist dream where the same government that can't successfully run a post office is put in charge of every American's physical well-being.
That’s left-wing code for “I’m going to raise $32 trillion in new taxes.”
Bryce seems to understand that single-payer comes with an astronomical price tag.
At last check, it was going to cost around $32 trillion. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like he has any idea where all of that money will come from.
According to Bryce, there are a lot of people and corporations who don't "pay their fair share." Once they do, we'll have all the money we need. That's left-wing code for "I'm going to raise $32 trillion in new taxes."
To CNN's extremely limited credit, they call him out on it immediately.
...And that's when Randy Bryce goes full-on "deer in the headlights."
Answers like this may be why Bryce's three previous campaigns (two for state legislature and one for school board) were unsuccessful.
