Nation of morons goes completely insane because Jeb Bush says more people should work full-time

Let's just skip the whole Jeb-Bush-isn't-my-top-choice disclaimer because it's beside the point. If you want an object lesson on why this nation is going down the tubes and has no hope whatsoever of turning its demise around, I give you the stupidest media narrative in the history of politics. If you or anyone you know really think this is a "gaffe," then you are beyond help. Stop reading this site and others that presume to offer you substantive information, and just turn on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and suck on a lollipop. There's no saving you now. As for the rest of you, behold:

Now what did he really say? He was discussing the goal of sustained 4 percent growth, and he said one of the things that's necessary to achieve that is more people transitioning from the part-time jobs they're working now to full-time jobs. How anyone can see that as a bad thing simply boggles my mind. I understands that if you're a Democratic Party high honcho you want to see people working as little as possible and relying on the government as much as possible. Your self-interest explains your complete disregard for basic economic reality. But as for the rest of you: You claim Republicans are slandering you by calling you a bunch of lazy slugs. Really? Why should anyone think you're not a lazy slug if you have a problem with what Bush said here. Going from part-time work to full-time work means more money. It means benefits. It means a better chance for advancement. It means greater economic security. And oh, by the way, a leading reason so many people are working part-time is ObamaCare, with its incentives to keep people at 29 hours a week or less by jacking up the cost of labor for anyone working 30 or more. Whatever benefit you think you're getting from subsidized premiums for crappy health insurance, you could be earning in the form of cash for that extra 11 hours a week, and you could use it to buy whatever you want. Better health insurance. A car. Access to better media than ABC News. And the reason that's important is that ABC News - which is no different than any of the rest of the media - completely and willfully ignores the substance of what Bush says here, and goes straight to the political perception that he's committed a "gaffe" by uttering a phrase that can be misrepresented by Democrats. So do they, as the people supposedly responsible for informing us, bring clarity to the meaning of the statement? Of course not. They play up the dopey "gaffe" angle by speculating mindlessly about how this phrase can and will be used to attack the speaker - as if that is a more legitimate enterprise than endeavoring to understand the actual policy point he was making. And because this nation a) legitimizes dopey journalism like this by continuing to watch it; and b) in many cases agrees with the notion that it would be a terrible thing if underemployed people got more hours, I can only conclude that America's descent into obsolescence is unstoppable and richly deserved. I hope the Republic of Michigan isn't run by the UAW, but I guess I'll have to take my chances.
