Bill Clinton: Set the bar for presidential relationships with women lower than any other president (with possible competition from Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy before the advent of the Internet).

Trump Better Than Clintons re Women

Donald Trump can easily convince most objective observers of both parties that what he has said and done in relation to women on a personal level is not as objectionable as what Bill and Hillary Clinton have said and done in relation to women on a personal level. Although it is true that Trump is not running against Bill but against Hillary, what Bill said and did as president is relevant since Trump is running for the office once occupied by Bill, who set the bar for presidential relationships with women lower than any other president (with possible competition from Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy before the advent of the Internet). If not one Democrat in the House of Representatives voted to impeach Bill Clinton, after his deeds --and misdeeds -- became common knowledge, including his having lied under oath, is it not hypocritical for all the Democrats, and even some Republicans, not to mention much of the media, to hound Trump for what he said and did without his having been in public office and without lying about it?
So here we have two of more fundamental differences between Trump and Clinton as to their relationships with women.
  1. Bill Clinton said and did what he did and said
    • while in public service
    • on the public payroll,
    • while president of the United States,
    • literally in the oval office,
    • with a person under his control.
  2. Bill Clinton lied about what he did, to the American people, under oath. Bill and Hillary are widely distrusted on many matters that would land other less well-connected people on the unemployment lines or in jail. Any chief executive in private industry would have been fired for pulling a "Monica Lewinsky," and any ordinary soldier would have been court-martialed and given a dishonorable discharge for breaching national security. Trump's problem has generally been that he is TOO honest, too transparent, spontaneously saying exactly what he is thinking without first filtering it through focus groups, polling experts, and other personal advisers.
  3. Trump may have begun some of his conquests on his own, but eventually claims to have won them over voluntarily because of his celebrity; not involuntarily because of the power of his office. Bill Clinton used and abused the power of his office.
  4. Bill Clinton allegedly raped a woman when he was an Attorney General, and was considered by his victim at that time and in that era too powerful to challenge. Feel free to Google Juanita Broaddrick, for example. Donald Trump does not stand so accused. Words are important, but actions speak louder than words.
  5. Bill Clinton famously parsed his words to the point of saying, "It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is." Donald Trump has apologized for what he said 10 years ago (when he was a Democrat like Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Clinton before him).

Keeping in mind that the Democratic Party has imposed Hillary on the electorate as its choice for the highest office in the land, we must also take note of how Hillary and Donald dealt with their spouse's respective but disrespectful dalliances. When Trump found out about the alleged infidelity of his second wife, he didn't maintain the relationship for ulterior motives, but divorced her. When Hillary found out about the dalliances of her husband, she not only:
  • remained with him,
  • defended him to an extent, but even
  • Is reputed to have led a "war room" (perhaps her only experience for a future role of commander-in-chief?) to harass and intimidate some of the women who came forth to accuse Bill of improprieties; there are allegations that outright threats were sanctioned and issued. (Query whether there is a contrast between Trump's love of women with Hillary's war on women?)
  • (Hillary also tried to play it both ways, cynically and hypocritically playing "the sympathy card" when she had made it clear much earlier that her ultimate aim was to become president, and a divorce from the person who made it all possible would not have been in her interest. Had she not been married to President Clinton, she would just be known as a woman who flunked the bar exam to fail to become a lawyer in the District of Columbia of Washington, the nation's capital.

It should be noted that many Republican office holders have come out against Trump simply because they would otherwise face retribution from the voters, but the American voters themselves are far more willing to vote for Trump because they are protected by the secret ballot; they realize that Trump is not running in a vacuum but against the person who symbolizes political incorrectness and bullying of people who do not share her ever changing values by joining President Obama in harnessing a corrupt IRS, FBI, Justice Department, and other corrupted government agencies, with the help of judges who feel empowered to make new policies rather than to enforce just laws and policies. Donald Trump and Bill Clinton were golfing buddies at some point. Ironically, the claim has been made that Trump does NOT trump Bill when it comes to bragging rights about their ability to win over women on a personal level. Because it is Trump's word against Bill's at this point, we may never know for sure, but we do know for sure that the majority of the voting public believes that Hillary is not trustworthy, and a majority of the members of the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Bill Clinton for lying under oath, and more members of Congress would have probably joined that vote were it not for their loyalty to the party then headed by the most brazenly disloyal husband to ever sully the office of president of the United States.
