As I keep saying - It happens all the time. Once you give an inch to those who want power, they’ll take a mile. European countries in the EU already know this to their cost… many times a week, as the EU grinds out law after law after law. And it is all done by force.
The latest is that the EU demands a 3.7% par rise for all “EU officials”. Individual member countries have tried to halve that, thus saving E90 million (about $129 million) a year. But, the EU demands the full rise, and is placing the claim before EU judges… who are “EU officials”! There is something awfully stinking about that. But, EU countries don’t have courage to fight back. If I were in charge of the UK, I would simply say, as once did a famed US general: “Nuts”, and get out of the EU fast, regardless of consequences.
The EU says it is not a matter of law but of right… the EU has a ‘right’ to take the taxes of member states, to use on itself. (Which is what the UN is aiming for). And what it gives to itself is big, for doing next to nothing.
Fancy a Third of a Million? Be a Judge!
The judges who will examine the claims earn £215,000 a year. That’s about $342,500 a year or E239,000. (Open Europe Press Summary, 7th Jan). On their pay, a mere 3.7% rise will add a very nice sum to their cash bucket! The one leading the decision to have a court decide on their behalf, is the EU’s British Commissioner and EU Foreign Minister, Baroness Ashton (another socialist), who already earns £241,000 a year (not including expenses, which can double her income). That’s nearly $384,000 or E268,000!! A 3.7% rise will add over $14,000 or E10,000 to her little stash, while the people who pay her, the tax payer, struggles to just survive.
Forgive my cynicism, but those who work for the EU work for self. They have no regard for freedom, nor for how others struggle to live because of their meddling and tax-taking. Right now in the EU, they are pushing farmers to increase output even more, with the excuse that more people need more food. But, the EU has been operating its ‘CAP’ system for decades. This is the Common Agricultural Policy, which calls on farmers to maximise production. The basic food products are then kept in massive barns until they rot or are burned The farmers get equally large subsidies, and bad farmers get large subsidies even though they are terrible at their jobs. And that is just one scam used by the EU. There are plenty more!
Me Too! Me Too!
MEPs (members of the European Parliament), of whom there are many from each country, are also on a gravy train, much richer than the ones running the UK parliament. Their weekly expenses alone would pay to keep many ordinary families in their basic needs for a full year. But, like everyone else in government, they are very, very greedy. Now they want an extra 8.6% rise for their assistants, who are already paid extremely well. This would increase the bill for the EU (that is, for tax payers in each member country) from E13 million to E160 million. That is well over $US 18 million to $229 million.
But hey, who cares – it’s only money! Tell that to the millions of ordinary UK tax-payers who, at this very moment are struggling to heat their homes in minus 7. Their energy bills were pushed up falsely by government last year by over 50%, to pay for ‘green policies’. The energy bill will increase by an appalling 400% over the next few years for the same reason.
In the UK alone, old folks die because they can’t heat themselves… and that’s in usual weather. We can expect many more deaths over this winter because of government and green policies. Each EU government is forced to apply green laws to their countries, by the EU itself. And the money goes to give huge helpings of money to its own officials!
This new pay rise is only one added bill for tax payers. The ‘Open Europe’ site listed 100 of the most costly EU regulations. It was quoted in the Czech news site, EUPortal, who say that Britain will pay an extra £18 billion (how much is that in dollars?) over the next few years, in lost income. At the same time the regulations will cost the UK its jobs, industrial base and much more. Also, you can add lost freedoms and imposed immorality. That’s what you get when a socialist government subscribes to a socialist mega-ruler. Almost three quarters of UK lost-costs are dictated by Brussels and the EU! Billions every year is just poured down the drain into EU smelly sewers. Now that’s what I call money-laundering!
Napoleon Rides Again!
Add to this the demands made by that strutting Napoleon, President Sarkozy. (EUObserver Le Figaro). He wants a tax on carbon emissions to be applied to every state within the EU. He is doing it through the EU because his own country’s judges refused to accept his idea of taxing France domestically. Sarkozy wants to tax at E17, or well over $24, per tonne of CO2 emitted. The cost would be paid for not by industry but by every household! And that is on top of any green taxes already being paid.
What this means is dramatic: to be able to live, every household (whether working or not, retired or sick) would have to buy brand new ‘CO2 saving’ glazing, a new electric car, brand new domestic equipment for kitchens and heating, solar panels and/or wind turbines, and so on. Sarkozy is also poised to add a ‘climate tax’ on every product entering France from foreign countries, if they don’t meet very rigid ‘green’ regulations. Thus, every other country in the world who wishes to deal with France will be forced to spend unnecessary cash on making their goods ‘green’. All for a mythical global warming and the scam it encourages!
Meanwhile, the EU says it will probably use the ‘crisis’ (remember – created by Gordon Brown, Democrats and other socialists) to bring in mandatory tax harmonisation. (EurActiv). The idea is to reduce all of Europe to the same mundane and broke level. The reason has nothing to do with helping those who pay tax. It is to help banks and financial institutes (including governments): “This allows for a smoother functioning of the single market, thus providing implicit insurance against asymmetric shocks and crises.” In other words, the EU takes taxes of hard-working folks to give itself massive pay rises, and will tax even more so that banks and others can rest easy, even when they foul up their own nest.
The cash flow for the EU is ever increasing, by taxing and taxing again, everyone who cannot fight back. Those who make the demands (the EU, through individual countries’ members of parliament) are exempt from the costs of doing it. So are the MPs and other government officials, who just claim back any costs to themselves, from the tax payer! These same ones can heat their homes to boiling point at no cost to themselves (Just like Gore). Taxation doesn’t bother them because they are high-earners with Rolls-Royce incomes, thanks to the tax payer and private deals they have with companies.
Look to the Future – Do You Have One?
You might think this has nothing to do with the USA or any non-EU country. Then think again. At one time there was a saying that whatever fashion is in the USA today, will end up in Europe tomorrow. This is no longer the case, because the USA is now following Europe – a great folly.
Ordinary people in every EU country are suffering financial and other hardships – and I mean real, mainly because of green policies. The biggest tax demands have yet to be made and to bite, which will make Europe one of the poorest ‘states’ in the world, whilst the EU itself will go from strength to strength, from riches to riches. This is what socialism does.
But, the UN is jostling for prime position, too, and unless the US kicks out, it will get its way, through Obama. The taxes the UN have ready for the USA are horrendous. The ‘Treaty of the Sea’ is even worse, with the potential to completely cripple and shackle every country in the world, as the Un decides who will eat and who will not.
Just as Scrooge was ordered to look into the future, look to Europe, because there you will see what has yet to come… the death of the USA by ignorance and deliberate voting-in of shambolic presidents and Democrats. The EU is a microcosm of the UN. Look and weep.
