Janet Napolitano is the wrong person for Secretary of Homeland Security

On November 10th, when the Council on American-Islamic Relations, (CAIR) issued a travel advisory that Muslim women may refuse the body scanners at airports because Muslim scholars have deemed that they violate Islamic law; it makes one wonder if the inmates are now in charge of the 'Cuckoo's Nest.'

Homeland Security must decide if Muslim women will receive the same treatment as all those desiring to use air Transportation. In fact, a "fatwa," a religious ruling, that forbids Muslims from going through the scanners at airports was issued. According to the Fiqh Council of North American Islamic scholars, said USA Today. "It is a violation of clear Islamic teachings that men or women be seen naked by other men and women," reads the fatwa. "Islam highly emphasizes haya (modesty) and considers it part of faith. The Quran has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts."

Allen West is truly one of the greatest speakers on the topic of Islam and jihad. He clearly 'get's it' and has a full understanding of the reality of Islam and its plan for world domination, so many simply ignore or do not understand. Muslim groups say the scanners go against their religion. One option offered to passengers who don't want to use the scanners would be a pat down by a security guard. The Muslim groups are urging members to undergo this procedure instead. CAIR has issued instructions to Muslim women regarding the body pat down. CAIR Travel Advisory: New Airport Pat Downs Called Invasive, Humiliating: Special recommendations for Muslim women who wear hijab:
  • If you are selected for secondary screening after you go through the metal detector and it does not go off, and "sss" is not written on your boarding pass, ask the TSA officer if the reason you are being selected is because of your head scarf.
  • In this situation, you may be asked to submit to a pat down or to go through a full body scanner. If you are selected for the scanner, you may ask to go through a pat down instead.
  • Before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat down.
Incredulously, when Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano was asked yesterday by CNS News the simple question if she will insist that Muslim women wearing hijabs must go through full body pat downs before boarding planes? She did not say yes or no. She replied, "there will be "adjustments" and "more to come" on the issue. This was a very simple question Ms. Napolitano. Your department had not thought about these issues as a possibility before implementing such intrusive procedures? Perhaps it is because you report to the great Muslim apologizer, President Barack Hussein Obama that you are unable to use the terms, Muslim, Islam, jihad, and terrorist in the same sentence? Overseas contingency operations" and "man-made disasters," the favored substitute terms, are bureaucratese jargon designed to muddle the minds of the public and get people focused on this administration's domestic agenda of expanding the government. Pretending away the global war on terror only invites attacks, and this administration is shirking its duties to the American people in embracing such a mind-set. Remember, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano kept a straight face when she claimed in the immediate aftermath that near miss with the "underwear bomber" "the traveling public is safe" and "the system worked"? According to an editorial in Investors Business Daily, "Yes Janet, There I S "War on Terror." A big part of the problem is that Secretary Napolitano and her boss, the president, do not want to believe we are at war, a long, hard war, against barbarians like the Christmas bomber, his friends in Yemen, the masterminds who run al-Qaida and terrorist states like Iran and Syria. She and the president have employed a policy of not using the terms "war on terror" and "terrorism" because they might foster an atmosphere of fear. Well, when fanatics are determined to kill Americans by the planeload, it would be irrational not to be afraid, and not to convert our fears into effective action. Like many in the current administration, Secretary Napolitano shows little in the way of leadership. Is there any question that this department would be run differently if Lt. Col. Allen West, newly elected Congressman (R-FL) were running the show? Please click on video to the left. Jim Campbell runs Charging Elephants.
