Yesterday, the Oregonian featured an editorial and excellent hit piece called, “ A prediction for 2012: Sarah Palin will toss her hat into the ring.” The article written by featured columnist, Todd Huffman, a Eugene, Oregon pediatrician was entertaining to say the least.

Sadly for Dr. Huffman, virtually everything he wrote about Governor Palin cannot be factually proven. Huffman is quite the dilettante writing on a plethora of topics. When he veers to his obsession, the need to assassinate the character, background and education of Sara Palin perhaps his time would be better spent in his office taking care of sore throats and ear aches. It’s probably an excellent idea to click on this link to understand his take on the Governor.

He is not atypical of today’s journalists whom operate with the following code: When in doubt, make it up, and if the facts don’t fit the story, don’t mention them. He asserts, “this femme of Face Book, this whiz of Twitter, this marionette of Rupert Murdoch who has become the Paris Hilton of politics, famous for being famous and little more. Is that so? The list of accomplishments by the favorite candidate of conservatives and many Republicans show this assertion to be without merit. So let’s take a moment to review his allegations and add a factual rebuttal. For the sake of the children in Eugene, Oregon let's hope he pays more attention to them then he ever did to Sarah Palin. Yes, the governor uses FaceBook and Twitter. Sarah Palin, a marionette for Rupert Murdoch? Perhaps a definition is in order for editorialist Huffman. Marionette-noun a puppet manipulated from above by strings attached to its jointed limbs. As columnist, Ted Belman, wrote in the American Daily, “Sarah Palin is one of a kind.” She marches to the tune of her own drummer. That Huffman would continue his diatribe with the assertion that Governor Palin is famous for being famous and nothing more is comical. Further he states Sarah Palin herself is utterly vacuous, there really is no “there” there. She is without a stitch of credibility or bona fides on any critical subject. Are readers beginning to question the good doctors bona fides yet? She knows most how to be a mom, and my guess is that she's a good one and beyond that she knows most where the cameras are. Really? She gives speeches of no distinction. She would do well to remember the wise adage that says when you are thought of as a fool, it is better to remain silent than to speak and remove all doubt. She is erratic and uneven and unable to articulate a consistent core philosophy. Apparently ABC News, no friend to the Republican Party didn't think so. Coming from ABC, that’s a mouthful. Yet the good Dr. who has yet to come up with a sentence of substance continued on with his, let's just call it a an unsubstantiated screed. Excuse me; are we talking about Sara Palin or the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? She can even share her core beliefs and values because she has them, and she does it without the need of a teleprompter. On the other hand had Barrack Hussein Obama told us his core beliefs and values from the podium and had the press done a high school level journalism student's job of investigative reporting, Americans would not be in the current woeful financial situation they find themselves here and abroad. Her beliefs and core values are in line with the vast majority of Americans. She believes in God and family, she’s pro-life, she's for cutting taxes, lowering taxes for all, lowering corporate income taxes, and cutting many of the well intentioned yet failed programs run by Washington bureaucrats. Sarah Palin stands for a smaller much less intrusive government and believes in business large and small, in short capitalism that has always driven American excellence. She is a student of history and knows that by doing so, businesses will begin hiring, the economy well being to rebound and deficits will start decreasing if appropriate and heavy spending cuts are made. Back to our good friend doctor/writer. Bottom line he asserts, she is an example of a bad education, an incurious mind, an inflated self-esteem and a need for constant attention. (Famous University of Idaho Alumni) Quickly please will someone phone Steve Jobs at Apple and Bill Gates at Microsoft, two college drop outs and advise them that their lack of a proper education puts them among the ranks of an alleged incurious mind as the former Mayor of Wasilla? That's just it, Huffman opines, Sarah Palin is, in other words, a product of mainstream American culture, not to mention white and Christian. Oh mercy he may have just called her a white girl. Perhaps since he brought race and religion into play we are left to wonder does mainstream America prefer to have a half-white president that speaks and reads Arabic but is incapable of dealing with the nuclear threat posed by the theocratic regime and it's Muslim midget, Achmadinejad, in Iran? So enough of the attempt to assassinate the character and qualifications of governor Palin. She is a graduate of the University Idaho in 1987 with a degree in journalism. Many in the mainstream media and the liberal elite discount her lack of attending a prestigious Ivy League school and tend to focus on the number of schools attended and the time it took for her to graduate as the reason for her alleged lack of mental acumen. Perhaps like many average people, without trust funds special scholarships and parental wealth, and she moved around like many college age students do and took a bit longer to graduate. There is no denying her meteoric rise from hockey mom to the Republican VP nominee on her own merit and track record. Governor Palin accomplished these feats In little over 15 years all while giving birth to and raising five children and helping her husband on his commercial fishing boat. Also, there is no denying that few people would have had the guts to give up the Governorship last summer and go for broke. Who does that? Sarah does. Clearly there is no denying her great success since writing a best seller, which in six months has sold over 2.5 million copies. She has become the leader of the opposition to current government policies, in becoming the most sought after speaker at astronomical speaker fees. She is frequently a Fox News commentator. She has the most sought after guest for talk shows because of what her appearance does for ratings. She became the most sought after endorsement for politicians running for office. Sarah has been hotly pursued as a speaker for a variety of charity events all the while being mercilessly attacked for all manner of ridiculous charges, trumped up, or otherwise. She’s not close to being done yet. She has just released her second book and is currently appearing in an eight part series of documentaries on her beloved home state of Alaska that she helped direct. Name me one woman, who went to an Ivy League School or otherwise, with a PhD or otherwise who can hold a candle to such accomplishments. Sarah is one of a kind. Would the United States Economy be in better shape and U.S. stature among world leaders be heightened with the Governor of Alaska living in the White House? “you betcha!. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. Jim Campbell runs Charging Elephants.
