Miami. Assembly of the Cuban Resistance. Cuba's streets and public places are the setting for the struggle for freedom being led by the Cuban Resistance. With peaceful marches in many towns and cities, highly visible demonstrations in places such as the National Capitol building in Havana, and the constant condemnation of abuses perpetrated by the Castro brothers' totalitarian regime, the Resistance has become a true force in defense of the Cuban people and their liberty, and is achieving an ever increasing impact on the Island.

In response to these advances by the Resistance, the regime has escalated the level of violence it uses to remain in power, targeting its repressive measures against civic activists, their families, and other Cubans. We particularly deplore the brutal acts of repression unleashed against the women of the Resistance, such as the one which occurred on Sunday, August 7, in Santiago de Cuba. But the Resistance- both men and women, from the cities and the countryside, Cubans all- is not alone. Every Cuban who suffers in some way and participates in civic struggle and civil disobedience against the totalitarian dictatorship will have our support because WE ARE ALL THE RESISTANCE. In this spirit, the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance salutes the contribution to the civic struggle represented by the Lawton Foundation's "Nation Project" by Dr. Oscar Elías Biscet. The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance asks all people of good will to demonstrate their support for the Resistance through the international bodies, governments, communications media, private entities, social institutions, and individual platforms to which they have access. The task of the Resistance, a vanguard of civic struggle that defends the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Cuban people, is gaining ground thanks to the efforts of committed activists, united families, supportive neighbors, and Cubans who yearn for a future in freedom. The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance asks our people, both in Cuba and abroad, to support those who struggle in the Resistance, friends and brothers to all. Within the Non-cooperation with the Dictatorship campaign and its motto WE ARE ALL THE RESISTANCE, we will continue our struggle to recover our people's sovereignty, held hostage for more than half a century by the regime which currently rules Cuba . We will not accept any concessions or half-measures that prolong the regime's stay in power and deny true freedom to the Cuban people. Aramís L. Pérez Assembly of the Cuban Resistance
