It's the perfect encapsulation of the Obama Administration. The only time Obama actually causes job creation in the private sector is when he tries to do the opposite.
CNN reports that gun sales are up briskly, so much so that many gun manufacturers are actually having trouble funding enough workers:
Mike Weddle, head of maintenance at Dynamic Research Technologies, an ammunition manufacturer in Albany, Mo., says he is adding 10 new hires to his staff of 35. DRT's machine operators make between $10 and $17 an hour -- a healthy paycheck in a region where it's tough to find a job and the cost of living is relatively low.
DRT currently cranks out 80,000 bullets per shift and operates two shifts per day. But that's not enough to meet demand. So Weddle is adding a third manufacturing shift and building an additional facility.
"Demand picked up a year ago -- it quadrupled," he said. "It just went crazy." He says .223 caliber ammo, which is for semiautomatic rifles, is particularly difficult to keep in stock.
Barack Obama should take a bow, even if this is the result of cynical political grandstand that was never going to go where Obama claimed.
Democrats' exploitation of the Sandy Hook massacre brought about lots of talk, media coverage and political speechmaking in favor of gun control measures. It was never going to go anywhere at the federal level, of course, because Republicans control the House, and because gun control proposals advocated by Democrats would almost certainly be squashed by the Supreme Court as violations of the Second Amendment.

But all the talk has lit a fire under people who would like to own guns to protect themselves, and don't want to waste any time lest the government come along and tell them they can't. So yeah, they're rushing out to buy guns while they can.
The bottom line? All of Obama's anti-gun talk is causing the number of guns in the hands of Americans to rise dramatically, and the restrictions Obama talked about were never going to happen.
