Bill Maher actually gets one right

‘All religion is equally extreme’ - That’s liberal B.S. according to ...Bill Maher?

Equivocation is the hallmark of the left-wing mind. Say Obama's Presidency is a train wreck; they respond by saying yammering abut Bush. Suggest Democrats are irresponsible with money; they'll start babbling about Republican spending in the '90s. Their side is never wrong, because your side has been wrong too.
Nowhere is this more blatant than in the spiritual realm. If you dare to suggest that - just maybe - Islamist extremism is a major global problem, you'd better prepare yourself for a polemic about the evils of all religion. In particular, they'll wail and moan like atheist banshees about the monstrous, vile, institution of Christianity. In the leftist view, Christianity is a major source of the world's problems. It's violent, it's anti-science, and it's designed to make you subservient. It simply must be done away with, for the good of mankind, because it's just as bad (if not worse) than every other belief system.

That's "Liberal bullshit" according to ....Bill Maher? Yes, alert the presses. America's far-left standard bearer is right about something. On Friday, Maher was talking to Brian Levin, a California State University professor and the director of the school's "Center for the study of hate." "It's not like people who are Muslim who do wacky things have a monopoly on it," Levin said. "We have hypocrites across faiths, Jewish, Christian who say they're out for God and end up doing not so nice things." Maher's reply is spot-on. "You know what?" Maher said. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? That’s liberal bullshit right there. They’re not as dangerous. I mean there’s only one faith, for example, that kills you or wants to kill you if you draw a bad cartoon of the Prophet. There’s only one faith that kills you or wants to kill you if you renounce the faith. An ex-Muslim is a very dangerous thing. Talk to Salman Rushdie after the show about Christian versus Islam. So you know, I’m just saying, let’s keep it real. “All religious are not alike,” he continued. “As many people have pointed out... ‘The Book of Mormon,’ did you see the show? OK, can you imagine if they did ‘The Book of Islam'? Could they do that? There’s only one religion that threatens violence and carries it out for things like that. Could they do “The Book of Islam” on Broadway?” Levin followed the standard liberal playbook, and tried to escape a losing argument by launching into ad hominem straw men. He suggested that Maher is nothing more than a hatred-promoting Islamophobe and the host wasn't having it. “You’re wrong about that, and you’re wrong about your facts,” Maher fired back. “Now, obviously, most Muslim people are not terrorists. But ask most Muslim people in the world - if you insult the Prophet, do you have what’s coming to you? It’s more than just a fringe element.” Maher - and it's almost inconceivable that I'm forced to admit this - is absolutely correct.
