Harry Reid: Tea Party made up of non-violent anarchists

This is weird. I could have sworn the Tea Party was supposed to be made up of fascist, far-right, radical social conservatives. We've heard Democrats complain for years that they want to take away the rights of minorities, gays, and virtually anyone who dares disagree with their anti-minority beliefs. Supposedly, they despise free speech too.

We've also heard that they're irrelevant, have no influence, and have dwindled in number to the point of worthless political obscurity. Apparently, Harry Reid doesn't believe any of that. According to the Senate Majority Leader, the Tea Party constitutes a non-violent anarchist group that hates all government with a passion. Gone is any inference of the Tea Party's formerly alleged totalitarianism, they're now deeply hateful of any and all federal and state authority. “We have a situation where this country has been driven by the Tea Party for the last number of years,” Reid claimed yesterday. “When I was in school, I studied government and I learned about the anarchists. Now, they were different than the Tea Party because they were violent. But they were anarchists because they did not believe in government in any level and they acknowledged it. The Tea Party kind of hides that.” Ahhh.. I get it. The Tea Party is secretly anarchist. Gotcha. Reid also says that "Government is inherently good," which - historically - is at best a dubious claim. Here's crazy Harry, desperately trying to redefine what anarchy means.
