The shocking truth revealed at last!!

Liberals discover three ‘new’ facts about the Tea Party

If you're a liberal, nothing becomes "real" until someone tells you what to think about it. Usually, this is the Democrat leadership, citing a big, expensive study. Once someone has spent the dough to hire a research firm, left-wing ideologues will get the official party-sanctioned version of the numbers, and they'll fall in line.
Now, thanks to such a survey, they finally know what to make of the mysterious, nebulous, group known as "The Tea Party." 11,000 members of Freedomworks were questioned as part of a scientific exploration of what, exactly, this mysterious shadow organization is all about. Left-wing website "The American Prospect" summed up the findings last week, after informing the American people that, frankly, no one really knew what the heck the Tea Party was - until now...

In a conflict-of-interest moment worthy of most lefties, the son of the man who did the survey presented the stunning results. He prefaces the discovery by telling us that: ""For a movement that's helped to reshape the Republican Party -- and by extension, reshape American politics -- we know shockingly little about the people who make up the Tea Party. While some in the GOP once hoped to co-opt the movement, it's increasingly unclear which group -- the Tea Party or establishment Republicans -- is running the show. Politicians have largely relied on conjecture and assumption to determine the positions and priorities of Tea Party activists." Sure, you could just say that Tea Party members tend to believe in founding principles, but that would be too easy....too "un-sciency." So, they ran the numbers and learned three ASTONISHING NEW FACTS.
  • Astonishing new fact Number One: Tea Partiers aren't thrilled with the GOP establishment.
I know, I know. I'll wait for that wave of shock to wear off. Apparently, Tea Party members are "surprisingly negative" about the Republican Party. 23% reject the Republican party altogether. Moreover, when Tea Party members were asked if they were more "Republican" or more "Tea Party," an amazing 70% chose "Tea Party." ....Yes, Tea Party members, while they may vote for the GOP out of a "lesser of two evils" necessity, believe in Tea Party ideals. This may be tough for Democrats to understand, since they'll sacrifice any belief if it means putting a Democrat in office. This leads us to....
  • Astonishing new fact Number Two: Tea Party members' place ideology above party victories.
The survey asked respondents their feelings regarding the following statement: "When we feel strongly about political issues, we should not be willing to compromise with our political opponents." 80% agreed at least somewhat. Again, this is stunning to liberals who put Democrat party victories above all else.
  • Astonishing new fact Number Three: Tea Party members aren't interested in compromising their beliefs to help the GOP silence them.
More than two-thirds of Tea Partiers polled placed themselves in the two most conservative categories on the economy, social issues, and overall policy. More importantly, they're not interested in compromising those beliefs so that the John McCains and Lindsey Grahams of the world can sell the notion of the "centrist GOP." Yes, this survey told the Democrats that Tea Partiers have conservative beliefs, and that they aren't interested in selling out to GOP elites. In the immortal words of Han Solo, "I'm glad you're here to tell us these things." Lefties sum up these findings by telling us that the GOP is far "too reliant on the Tea Party." In fact the problem is exactly the opposite. All of the above "revelations" are well known to top level GOP insiders, but these facts can make the life of a RINO difficult. So, the powerful within the party decided it would be easier to just silence the internal opposition. They saw how well that worked in 2012, when they rammed a centrist candidate down the throats of the base. Since then, the "real conservative" wing of the party has grown more powerful, with the Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee contingent all but marginalizing the old guard. When Democrats study an issue like this and conclude that the GOP is too controlled by the Tea Party, what does that tell us? Do we honestly believe that the advice they offer is coming from the goodness of their hearts? Are we supposed to assume that they'd really prefer to live in an America where more Republicans were winning, so they're trying to help the GOP figure it out? Of course not. The rise of a GOP that's been dragged to the Constitution by the Tea Party scares the bejeezus out of them. So they're looking at the data, and trying to use it to scare their opponents into maintaining their current impotence. Thankfully, their own numbers suggest it won't work. Those who believe in founding principles are here to stay, and they spell big trouble for the Democrats going forward. Still, it's fun to watch them try and figure it all out... The fact that they needed a study to reveal this "new and astonishing information" is just priceless.
