Kathleen Sebelius: ObamaCare critics are like the opponents of 1960s civil rights legislation

The House of Representatives has now voted 38 times to repeal ObamaCare. It’s no surprise, of course, that Harry Reid will never let this come to a vote in the Senate (not that it would pass with the current Democrat majority). It’s also no surprise that official Washington treats these votes as symbolic nonsense, since they keep telling us ObamaCare is “here to stay” so we might as well just relax and enjoy it.

No, we should not. As the list of broken promises (lower insurance premiums, if you like your plan you can keep your plan, no negative impact on jobs, it will reduce the deficit, etc.) continues to far outpace promises kept, it becomes all the more important that the House keep doing this so the true monstrosity of ObamaCare is not lost on the American people. But of course, Obama loyalists will not take this lying down, which is why Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius went before the NAACP convention in Orlando recently and said – are you ready for this? – that those who opposed ObamaCare are the same kind of people who opposed civil rights legislation in the 1960s. Did she really say that? Oh no she din’t! (Translation: Yep.) If Kathleen Sebelius doesn’t understand why this is such a preposterous statement, she can call me and I will be glad to explain it to her. But this is pretty much what we’ve come to expect from ObamaCare apologists. They don’t just disagree with you. They compare you to the darkest villains of the civil rights era. People who know they’ve done a good thing don’t need to resort to that sort of thing. People who know they’ve pulled a fast one on the American people can’t stop doing that sort of thing. Keep voting to repeal! Eventually we’ll have a Senate and a president who will join the servants of We the People and make it reality.
