If you think you're insured, don't be so sure.

85% of 2.9 million ObamaCare 'inconsistencies' can't be fixed

As you're probably aware, almost 3 million ObamaCare "enrollees" were found to have "inconsistencies" in their applications. That's a sanitized way of saying 3 million people might not actually have qualified for the insurance they thought they'd purchased. So, of course, the feds spent the last nine months running around trying to reconcile the "inconsistencies" so they could be sure everyone was properly enrolled in the glorious new world of the ACA.
Except, they can't. In fact, according to the New York Post, 85% of the 2.9 million errors can't be fixed.
Most of the problems involve certifying citizenship and income, key components of the national health plan. But some of the problems are downright nutty. One unidentified state-run marketplace cited situations in which infants and young children were “erroneously identified as incarcerated, according to federal data,” the inspector general for the Health and Human Services Department revealed Tuesday. Just 425,000 problematic applications have been resolved out of 2.9 million that states and the federal exchange reported, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services told The Post.

Hey, who knows? Maybe your baby really is in jail. Maybe she stole cookies or pacifiers or something. The government has to be sure! After all, when you've created one of history's greatest clerical boondoggles, you can't just go at it willy-nilly. So, what does it mean if you're one of the millions of people who still have "inconsistencies" in your profile? It means there's a good chance you're not insured. According to an HHS report released in February:
"The Federal marketplace was generally incapable of resolving most inconsistencies. Without the ability to resolve inconsistencies in an applicant’s eligibility data, the marketplace cannot ensure that an applicant meets each of the eligibility requirements for enrollment... [or] eligibility for insurance affordability programs."
Congratulations Democrats. Just like the GDP, it looks like it's time to revise those enrollment numbers - downward.
