Bet on Obama to nominate Kamala Harris as Holder's replacement - relaunch war on women & racism memes

If you aren't familiar with the name Kamala Harris, you should be. The LA Times describes the California Attorney General thusly: "Aty. Gen. Kamala Harris is a veteran prosecutor, a skilled political leader and a promising politician who is sure to figure in California's future." She's been called a "female Barack Obama" and she's just as far-left as you might imagine.
Barack Obama famously described her this way:
"You have to be careful to, first of all, say she is brilliant and she is dedicated and she is tough, and she is exactly what you'd want in anybody who is administering the law, and making sure that everybody is getting a fair shake. She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general in the country."
Yes, that would have been labelled as insulting, ignorant, and sexist had a Republican said it but Obama, obviously, gets a pass. There's no war on women where the President is concerned. That, in a roundabout way, brings us to the point. If I were a betting man, I'd place my chips on Kamala Harris to be Barack Obama's nominee to replace exiting Attorney General Eric Holder. She may or may not be qualified, but that's not really what's important here. Harris is the first African American, Asian American, female to hold the office of California Attorney General.

In short, she's the kind of triple threat Democrats love. They couldn't care less if she's right for the job. She'd be a spectacular political tool and, given their dim midterm hopes, that's exactly what they need. If they're smart, they'll nominate her at the beginning of October and, when Republicans protest, Democrats and their media allies will spend the rest of the midterm cycle claiming that the GOP is a racist, sexist, gang of "phobes." Thanks to crackpots like Debbie Wasserman Schultz we already know they're desperate to relaunch their ludicrous "War on Women" meme, and a Harris nomination would be the perfect way to do it. Dem candidates would immediately start carping about how - if you don't get out to vote - Republicans will take the Senate and destroy the President's righteous, upstanding, nominee. ...Because they're evil, full of hatred, and she's a minority female. It's all a set-up and it's all theater but Dems are nothing if not experts in exploiting false divisions. It's the one arena where they truly excel. All of the above is speculation. I have no "inside scoop" on this and I may be proven completely wrong. NPR says they have sources claiming that Solicitor General Don Verrilli will get the spot. Others are claiming that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has already been given the Presidential nod. Even if Obama wants to nominate Harris, she may decline. ...But sometimes its fun to try and read the political tea leaves. This would be a move that makes a lot of sense, both in terms of politics and in terms of putting someone in the AG position who Obama can count on to run the DOJ his way. Would she be good at the job? Why does that matter? By supporting Eric Holder for as long as they have, Democrats have already proven that this question is irrelevant.
