Last month, during early voting, Illinois voting machines were found to be switching Republican votes in favor of Democrat candidates. At the time, the problem was attributed to "calibration errors" and a swift fix was promised.
Now, on Election Day, we're getting reports of the same thing happening - only this time it's in Virginia.
According to the Virginia Republican Party, touchscreen voting machines in Virginia Beach are taking votes cast for Republican House member Scott Rigell and awarding them to Democrat Suzanne Patrick.
They've uploaded the following example to their YouTube page:
While we're not exactly sure how widespread this is, the VA GOP claims to have seen it in "at least four different Congressional Districts." They've written a letter to the Virginia department of elections which claims the vote-switching has been documented in the aforementioned City of Virginia Beach, as well as Arlington, Prince William, and Spotsylvania counties.
We'll keep an eye out for updates.
