Fiasco. Can we have a real president please? And as soon as possible?

You know it's funny, the White House and Iran don't agree on anything about the U.S./Iran 'agreement

Are the jokes writing themselves at this point? Because I don't want to pile on if it's entirely unnecessary. Even when the framework-for-an-agreement-for-a-set-of-principles-for-a-kind-of-sort-of-deal was announced last week, anyone could see that Iran could never be trusted to stick to the terms of the deal - and that the end result of that was not in any way what Obama and Kerry wanted people to think.

That became even clearer yesterday, when Obama himself admitted that even under the best of circumstances (i.e. the one in his fantasies), this deal would only delay the inevitable, which meant Iran would have the bomb in 13 years or so. But even those illusions are pretty much toast now, as the Iranians are taking shots at their U.S. counterparts and contradicting everything the White House claimed the deal consisted of. What a joke:
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all state matters, tore into the U.S. in remarks published on his official website and on his Twitter account. Khamenei made clear he was neither endorsing nor rejecting the framework deal announced last week. But he challenged the way the U.S. was describing it -- specifically, a fact sheet put out by the White House saying sanctions would be removed only after inspectors verify Iran's compliance. The Ayatollah, in one tweet, claimed the fact sheet was "contrary to what was agreed." In another, he said: "I trust our negotiators, but I'm really worried as the other side is into lying & breaching promises; an example was White House fact sheet."
So yeah, this deal is really coming together well. Anyone could have told you the Iranians couldn't be trusted to abide by the terms of the deal. Turns out they can't even be trusted to pretend they're going along with it, as Obama and Kerry are doing so unconvincingly. Because Obama and Kerry are so motivated to get any kind of deal done with Iran, you can bet this is not the end of the process. They'll dismiss this as just meaningless rhetoric - just as they dismiss Iran's vows to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth - and they'll come back with more concessions and more promises to get Iran to sign on the dotted line. Neville Obama will do anything to be able to wave that piece of paper and decalre that he's achieved peace in our time. The only thing that will stop Iran from getting nukes is a) when they're scared to death of what will happen to them if they don't stop trying to build one; or b) that very thing actually happens. And they know that neither A nor B is in the offing as long as Obama and Kerry are in charge of U.S. foreign policy, which is why they pull crap like this and will continue to do so. Can we have a real president please? And as soon as possible?
