You may recall that, a few months ago, Chris Matthews made waves by asking DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz a very simple question: "What's the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist? After all, Bernie Sanders is a proud socialist and Dems like to claim that label doesn't apply to them. Wasserman Schultz, unsurprisingly, couldn't answer the question.
Apparently she found it difficult to outline a difference where none exists.
Now, Matthews is back with the same question. This time he's asking it of the Dems' inevitable 2016 candidate, Hillary Clinton. Obviously, the former First Lady saw the embarrassing Wasserman Schultz interview and had an answer prepared, right? ...Right?
Wrong. (Scroll down for video)
Once again, it's impossible to outline the many, many, differences between a modern Democrat candidate and a socialist - because there aren't any. Matthews and Clinton may like to pretend they're not socialists, but the policies they champion tell a different story.
I'll say this for Chris Matthews. He may be insane, but he knows when he's got a question that will make the pols squirm.
