Serious question, and it's one about which I'm genuinely concerned: Are young black people being made to feel that they have no real identity if they can't claim some sort of racial victim status? Are they being browbeaten into thinking that being strong, independent and happy means you're "trying to act white" or something along those lines?
I realize that a lot of this is happening because the political left needs it to in order to keep the America-is-racist narrative alive. In the absence of actual racists rampaging across the country spray-painting hate graffiti on walls, they have to manufacture it to give the media something to talk about. It's dishonest in the extreme, but at least you can understand the motivation.
But why do you want to position yourself a victim of it? What's behind the need for sympathy and attention so severe that you'll do this, and then report it to the police?
