It’s the beginning of the baseball season, and no matter who you’re supporting (Go Blue Jays!) it’s time to make your yearly predictions. And though each of us have a different method to work out who is going to win what and who’ll take bottom place, I doubt yours will be as involved as Bruce Bukiet’s.

Don Whittman, Cliff Fletcher and the Maple LeafsBy Edward Zawadzki Tuesday, January 22, 2008
Hate to start any column about anything political, but I just finished watching the South Carolina Democratic debate on the tube last night . All I can say is that I truly hope that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama keep knocking the hell out of each other and give the voters a chance to see that the third person on the stage (I don’t count Wolf Blitzer) John Edwards is head and shoulders above those two twits in ideas, sincerity and charisma. He’s truly the only one up there that appears to look and sound presidential. I really think he is the only Democratic candidate that will give John McCain a run for his money.

In what has turned into one of the blackest days in the history of sport, the world today has learned of the findings of the Mitchell Report, the long awaited release of an investigation into rampant drug and steroid use in the world of Major League Baseball by former Senator George Mitchell.
Sports RoundupBy Edward Zawadzki Thursday, December 6, 2007
Well it looks like Simon Frasier and UBC will be making Canadian football history, when in 2009, they will allowed to play in the US-based, NCAA football conference. The two western-based Canadian universities are to be the first two teams to be admitted into the NCAA in a 10-year pilot program to allow teams from foreign soil to participate. It’ll be a great boost for Canadian based schools to start offering full scholarships for Canadian talen, and if successful will boost player development in Canada by leaps and bounds.
The Squared CircleBy Edward Zawadzki Thursday, November 29, 2007
It was last Friday at Las Staple Centre where 29-year-old Ricardo Mayorga out machoed veteran Fernando Vargas and sent the tough super middleweight into an early retirement after a very tough, 12-round majority decision. Both pugilists showed a noticeable animosity towards each other, which culminated in a pier-six brawl at a prefight press conference.
