Have the republicans entered into a suicide pact? The party’s latest stratagem, a national “listening tour” would be laughable if it wasn’t so piteous. Republicans lost the House in 2006; followed by a disastrous campaign in 2008 that enabled Nazi collaborator, George Soros to install his Marxist marionette in the White House, and the party’s solution is to send out in the RINO’s?

One of the many perks of being POTUS, or TOTUS, if you are a stickler for accuracy, is that you don’t need to go through the nettlesome process of applying for a security clearance. POTUS gets to decide by fiat what positions should require clearance, and we must accept his appointments as competent patriots, notwithstanding titanic amounts of evidence to the contrary. The president is also at liberty to install incontestably unqualified individuals to sensitive posts.

How perplexing it is that the leader of the free world and possessor of the nuke codes is not required to have a national security clearance. An Army private who may come into contact with classified documents must be cleared. The Commander in Chief is exempt from any such scrutiny.

Despite impressive efforts by the local news media to keep it a secret, Steve Emerson, a leading authoritiy on Islamic extremism spoke at an event in Rancho Mirage, California Sunday evening. Once the dinner event had sold out, The Desert Sun inserted a brilliantly crafted piece in the B Section, guaranteed to generate plenty of buzz: “Not everyone has the same values. Some values are a direct threat to the American way of life. That's the take-away Steven Emerson hopes to impart as the featured speaker for Sunday's World Affairs Council of the Desert Distinguished Speakers Series.”

The Audacity of Obvious:  Obama May Not be Centrist?

It is always inspiring to observe the remarkable gift of the ability to see the excruciatingly obvious. However, it may be premature to break out the 2012 party hats. The reported Obama Awakenings, while welcome, may not be absolute evidence that America is shaking off its ether and coming to its collective senses.
