What change in the message coming from these apparent bastions of conservative thought has occurred over the past couple of months? Who in the talk radio line up has shifted to a “more moderate” turn of phrase when discussing the actions of the Middle Eastern States? You may be surprised, you may not.

A Conservative Manifesto

Today’s newspaper was filled with stories, articles and columns regarding the potential electoral disaster facing the Democrats this coming November. Even the Las Vegas Sun, Nevada's lone liberal rag carried a column by the New York Times offering a serious warning to the Democrat establishment that they ignore the Tea Party at their own peril. The one overriding point missing from all of these and practically every other piece written by the Mainstream Media since the days of George Bush Senior is, just what a conservative is.

Sarah Palin way better than Obama

As as been reported, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs mocked Sarah Palin’s much publicized use of notes written on her hands at the daily White House press briefing yesterday. Right in the middle of answering a question about whether Republicans were serious about helping Obama pass legislation on jobs and health care, Gibbs suddenly held up one of his hands and showed a list of things scrawled onto the palm. He pointed to a list of things for his son that included an inane breakfast choice, but the secretary said he'd written down some other reminders for himself as well.

The Pot Calling the Kettle Black

Twice now Barrack Hussein Obama has dumped on the city of Las Vegas as a place to avoid spending money in. Obama, a man of mixed parentage, has no problem at all in hiding behind his physical appearance when he deposits his size 12 into his mouth. Neither is he, nor his supporters, at all slow when it comes to dispensing racist remarks against those who disagree with him. And, as is typical, the Democrat leadership in Nevada suddenly found themselves muzzled because there seems to be an unwritten commandment within the liberal hierarchy; “Thou shalt not criticize the black president,” even when he is bankrupting your state.

A USO in Las Vegas? Not a Chance…Hold on a Minute

Call me cynical, but does anyone with half a brain think Harry would have exerted the amount of political muscle it took to get the USO to suddenly decide to reverse course without something being in it for him? Don’t get me wrong, I am as pleased as a flea in a dogpound for the young men and women who will no longer have to sack out on a hard airport floor in front of strangers while they wait for that bus. What irks me is the political chicanery behind the whole thing.

A Boston Tea Party Massacre

Every mainstream media news organization derided the Tea Party protests as laughable, even going to the point of creating a disgusting frat house joke around the name “teabagger”. Networks such as MSNBC and CBS refused to take any point of the Tea Party seriously, writing it off as if it was no more irritating than the yipping of a neighbor’s small dog. I doubt they think that now. Scott Brown handed the Democrat Nominee, Martha Coakley a million-plus vote drubbing last night. This morning every single Democrat leader is blaming everything except the actual cause of this Tea Party Massacre.

Liberals Cannot Fix Education

Not surprisingly, my home state of Nevada continues to rank at or near the bottom in state-by-state comparisons for student achievement in reading and math. Another non-surprise is that those whose agendas have essentially created the conditions for this outcome want to step in to “solve the problem”. One of those is WestEd, a Californian Educational agency with political connections throughout the southwest. Here is a quote from a recent paper on Nevada from Paul Koehler, Director of WestEd’s Policy Center:

Harry Reid said this about Trent Lott when Lott was forced to resign over what some called racist remarks; “He had no alternative. If you tell ethnic jokes in the backroom, it’s that much easier to say ethnic things publicly. I’ve always practiced how I play.” Well, we now know that was a lie, don't we?

Indict Obama, Pelosi and Reid

70% of the American budget is based on consumer spending. The other 30% is based on production. Obama would love to wipe out that last 30% if there was any way to accomplish it without bankrupting Washington (he would lose all his presidential goodies). Currently each and every American, whether or not they are a taxpayer owes a debt of $340,000.

USO Las Vegas wish list

In the ongoing effort to bring a desperately needed USO facility to the Las Vegas airport, I have run into several people who typify the term “real American”. In spite of the incredible amount of bureaucratic stalling they have run into, both from local and national leaders, they have continued to push this effort forward. Now it looks like at the very least our efforts will create a temporary facility.

USO in Vegas…Clark County’s Shame

I received a call from Peter “Chris” Cristof, a retired Marine three-striper. The call came in on the morning of Saturday the second of January. Nearly a hundred US Marines were coming into McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. From there they were to be bussed over to 29 Palms for desert training. We’re talking Afghanistan here folks. These kids are being asked by us to face Islamic fanatics on our behalf and the State I represented can’t even be bothered to offer them a place to rest while they sit out an 18 hour wait for a bus.

USO in Vegas, the Battle Continues

One of the biggest problems facing the Republican Party right now is the Tea Party movement. Very few conservative writers and commenters wish to acknowledge this, but the fact remains inviolate; without that unregulated, loosely organized association of independents and disaffected quasi-republicans, the GOP stands little chance of ever winning a single election...even with the horrendous poll numbers facing Obama. So what can the Grand Old Party do?

Getting Rid of Harry Reid

Every poll, including those requested by the Democrats, indicate that a consistent majority of Americans do not want the Reid/Obama healthcare takeover to pass. I imagine that, if a more specific poll were to be put forth, they don’t even want it to come out of committee.

A USO in Vegas? Not a chance

During the Summer of 2007, I was approached by a group of concerned veterans in regard to a problem they had run into. These men had been attempting to get approval to have a USO-style facility put into the local airport. Without such a facility, soldiers traveling through McCarran Airport have had to sleep on the floor while waiting for a connecting flight--sometimes up to 3 nights in a row. Their food costs are as high as $20 for a dinky sandwich and a small bottle of juice. The average soldier is paid roughly just a bit over minimum wage.

EcoNazis a Greater Threat than Islamic Terror

There is an old bit of prose detailing the dangers inherent in noninvolvement. It reads thusly:
