Anyone who’s spent any amount of time following national politics is aware of the capricious way the ACLU has pursued its alleged goal of supporting civil liberty. It’s always been clear that there were political motivations impacting their decisions and, in recent years, they’ve done less and less to argue otherwise. Now, they’ve dropped the pretense altogether.
Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but leftists don’t really care about the immigration issue. That is to say, they don’t care about the suffering of illegals, “the children,” or any of the other platitudes we’ve heard in the last week. They care about power, hurting Republicans and shoring up their future voting bloc. Any pretense beyond that is simply a means to an end.

If you follow me on Twitter (or Herman) you may recall that I was sent to the “conservative Twitter Gulag” a couple of weeks ago. I jokingly suggested that a TV show I enjoy should kill off one of its central characters. My “violent rhetoric” resulted in a temporary ban from the platform and I suspect I’ve been operating under some level of “shadowban” ever since. Bear in mind, the person whose death I advocated is fictional.
I’ve written before about the fact that liberals require misery to win. A happy, successful, country is not a place where their doomsaying can find purchase, so the better things are going, the harder it is for them to sell their class-warfare ideology. If people are happy, they’re not looking for a scapegoat – and the blame game is the only operational strategy the left has.

The left hates Donald Trump with the white-hot fiery passion of a thousand suns. Not only did he usurp America’s rightful statist queen, he got into office and actually did some of the things he promised – and those things are having positive results.

As Dan wrote earlier, the media is falling all over itself to present the IG Report as a document that exonerates the FBI. If you believe the mainstream headlines, and you shouldn’t, there was simply no evidence of bias. Sure, there were some mistakes made, but nothing was bad enough to cause any legitimate concern.
I don’t want to give anyone a false sense of security, but I’d take this as a good sign. Elizabeth Warren is “filled with terror” about her party’s ability to take at least one chamber of Congress in the upcoming midterms. Speaking top Rachel Maddow, she appears less than confident about the Dems’ odds of regaining the House of Representatives – which, let’s face is, is probably the only shot they’ve got. The Senate is likely already out of reach.
You can rest, now. You’re safe. The days, weeks, and months of terror are at an end. Diamond & Silk, those dastardly black Trump supporters, are “not dangerous.”

If I didn’t know better, I’d almost be willing to bet that Nancy Pelosi is actively trying to keep the House of Representatives in Republican hands. Every single time she opens her mouth lately, out flops a new GOP commercial. It started with “crumbs,” carried on through her defense of MS-13, and led right up to last week’s proclamation that the jobs report was meaningless.
As soon as Mitt Romney clinched the 2012 GOP nomination, I knew. We were in for four more years of Obama. By the time election night rolled around, the polls had tightened and I had some sliver of hope that he might pull things off – but, still, in my heart of hearts I knew. Romney was not the kind of fighter that could take on an incumbent President and win.
When you’re a tax-cheating race-hustler with an ever-diminishing hold on your former glory, you look for ways to stay in the news. You attach yourself to the right causes, organize marches for possibly nonexistent issues, work to gin up racial strife, and do whatever you can to keep your name in the papers.
Does anyone really know what to expect from a meeting between Kim Jong Un and Donald J. Trump? Probably not. Anyone who tells you that they know how the summit will shake out is either lying or has stretched their “wishful thinking” to the breaking point.
