Last summer, when the Texas legislature passed Senate Bill 4 (SB-4) it was signed by Governor Greg Abbott and was immediately challenged by the ACLU, immigration activists, and Democrat-controlled cities.

Yesterday, Dan told about Libby Schaaf, Oakland CA's Democrat mayor who decided to help criminals evade arrest and prosecution. By warning illegals of an impending ICE raid, Schaaf aided 800 illegals - including violent offenders - as they escaped the long arm of immigration law. Sadly, this was not surprising - nor was it anything new. It was just the latest in a long line of moves made by California liberals in pursuit of their open-borders fantasy.
You will no doubt recall that, back in 2012, Eric Holder was held in civil and criminal contempt after refusing to hand over documents related to the disastrous 'Operation Fast and Furious.' The clandestine program saw ATF agents facilitate the trafficking of illegally obtained firearms - including everything from simple pistols to full-auto AK-47's - to the Mexican drug cartels. The guns were supposed to be tracked but weren't.
Over the years, we've talked quite about how the "Fight for $15" would just end up costing people their jobs. Faced with an overpaid and under-skilled workforce, it only makes sense that employers would look for ways to eliminate the need for increasingly hostile employees. Previously we focused on the way checkout robots were ending the era of hiring cashiers.

No one ever votes illegally. That's the left's mantra when it comes to voter ID. You don't need it, because the problem it seeks to solve doesn't really exist. There's also no reason to purge voter rolls, audit polling places, or, really, do much of anything to ensure that our elections are on the up and up.
There are a few prominent Democrats - leaders in the gun control movement - that know precious little about firearms. Sadly, those are the lucky ones. The rest know absolutely nothing and never miss an opportunity to put their ignorance on display.
I didn't watch the Oscars last night. To me, enduring a nigh-endless litany of lectures and virtue-signaling from a bunch of multi-millionaire actors sounds more like torture than entertainment. I have better things to do than burn four hours on a parade of morally-bankrupt hypocrites.

In January, when FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe abandoned ship ahead of an agency review, it raised more than a few eyebrows. McCabe was due to retire March 18th, but suddenly walked away with little in the way of an explanation. No one knew quite what to make of it, but his exit sure had all the earmarks of a guy who was getting out of town while the getting was good.
