Maxine Waters is currently having something of a “moment.” She’s gone from being a semi-obscure crackpot to being a near-constant talk show fixture overnight. She’s also becoming the face of the left side of her party, and Republicans couldn’t be happier about it.
Alternate headline: “It’s all about me.”
Barack Obama is concerned. He thinks Democrats should be concerned. No, not about Trump (though we’re sure he worries about the elimination of his legacy) and not about Republicans either. No, Obama is concerned about something else.
If you spent any time on the interwebs yesterday, you were treated to a left-wing meltdown the likes of which we haven’t seen since Election Night 2016. After a brutal week of Supreme Court defeats, Democrats were rocked by the news that Justice Anthony Kennedy was retiring. The fact that Donald Trump will a get at least one more bite at the SCOTUS apple drove them into a wild fit from which they’re never likely to recover.
As if the Democrats Hadn’t had enough bad news from the Supreme Court this week, Justice Anthony Kennedy has announced his retirement. That means President Trump will get another bite at the SCOTUS apple -something which is sure to send leftists everywhere into anaphylactic shock. If you thought they were unhinged before, I suspect “we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
If you like watching leftists eat their own, 2018 is shaping up to be your year. After being shafted by their own party in 2016, the election and presidency of Donald Trump has driven them into a white-hot, self-destructive, rage. That’s why we’re seeing things like the violent harassment of opponents, the dumping of Joe Crowley for a radical socialist in New York, and unhinged activists turning on the people they used to support.
As you’re probably aware, the Democratic Party has money troubles. Their 2016 presidential candidate was an atrociously expensive failure, and they’ve been having serious trouble raising funds since her implosion. Back in February, it was widely reported that the DNC had just $6.5 million in the bank and was saddled with $6 million in debt. Things haven’t improved much since then.
Ever since Maxine Waters made her comments calling for mobs to harass prominent Republicans, the media has been rife with stories about Democrats who are allegedly denouncing her. The narrative is that enlightened lefties – particularly those in positions of political power – are peace-loving individuals who want to live in a calm, genteel, world.
If you thought the Democrat histrionics had been ramped up about as far as they could go, brace yourself. As the saying goes, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.” This morning, in a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Trump’s travel ban. The decision has the libs in yet another meltdown, for the very first time in oh… about twenty minutes.

Sometimes I feel sorry for New York. There are places, well outside of NYC, where actual honest-to-goodness sane people live. They don’t have much of voice in the state’s politics because the cities overwhelm them, but they do exist. Sadly, they get saddled with people like Andrew Cuomo and Cynthia Nixon – two candidates in a desperate race to prove who can be the more left-wing Governor.
Anyone who’s spent any amount of time following national politics is aware of the capricious way the ACLU has pursued its alleged goal of supporting civil liberty. It’s always been clear that there were political motivations impacting their decisions and, in recent years, they’ve done less and less to argue otherwise. Now, they’ve dropped the pretense altogether.
Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but leftists don’t really care about the immigration issue. That is to say, they don’t care about the suffering of illegals, “the children,” or any of the other platitudes we’ve heard in the last week. They care about power, hurting Republicans and shoring up their future voting bloc. Any pretense beyond that is simply a means to an end.

If you follow me on Twitter (or Herman) you may recall that I was sent to the “conservative Twitter Gulag” a couple of weeks ago. I jokingly suggested that a TV show I enjoy should kill off one of its central characters. My “violent rhetoric” resulted in a temporary ban from the platform and I suspect I’ve been operating under some level of “shadowban” ever since. Bear in mind, the person whose death I advocated is fictional.
I’ve written before about the fact that liberals require misery to win. A happy, successful, country is not a place where their doomsaying can find purchase, so the better things are going, the harder it is for them to sell their class-warfare ideology. If people are happy, they’re not looking for a scapegoat – and the blame game is the only operational strategy the left has.
On Friday, we learned that Peter Strzok – everyone’s favorite deeply-biased FBI texter – was going to be on the receiving end of a Congressional subpoena.
The left hates Donald Trump with the white-hot fiery passion of a thousand suns. Not only did he usurp America’s rightful statist queen, he got into office and actually did some of the things he promised – and those things are having positive results.
I will be 100% honest. I have absolutely no “inside info” regarding the way things work in this White House. I’m not in any way connected to this administration, so the precise workings of the Trump/Giuliani relationship are a bit of a mystery to me.
As Dan wrote earlier, the media is falling all over itself to present the IG Report as a document that exonerates the FBI. If you believe the mainstream headlines, and you shouldn’t, there was simply no evidence of bias. Sure, there were some mistakes made, but nothing was bad enough to cause any legitimate concern.
I don’t want to give anyone a false sense of security, but I’d take this as a good sign. Elizabeth Warren is “filled with terror” about her party’s ability to take at least one chamber of Congress in the upcoming midterms. Speaking top Rachel Maddow, she appears less than confident about the Dems’ odds of regaining the House of Representatives – which, let’s face is, is probably the only shot they’ve got. The Senate is likely already out of reach.
You can rest, now. You’re safe. The days, weeks, and months of terror are at an end. Diamond & Silk, those dastardly black Trump supporters, are “not dangerous.”
This is according to Mark Zuckerberg, who admits that Facebook “mishandled” their page “for months.” This is shorthand for “enough people have made enough noise that we’re reversing course.”
